Webtoon comic: Magic Meow

Synopsis:

Two adorable kittens receive a magical gift, which will bring them as many problems as fun. They’ll have to work together to overcome all the adventures that await them.

The characters in this story are based on real animals and their true personalities.

Webtoon comic creation process

Here is a brief summary of the steps to follow to create a comic in Webtoon:

Think of something that won’t tire you out too much and that you enjoy drawing
Think of a theme that you like
Create a story with a beginning, middle, and end
Create a script outlining how many chapters there will be and what will happen in each one
Create a storyboard for the chapter and show it to someone in case there are any parts that aren’t clear
Sketch, outline, and color the chapter
Show the chapter to a few people to get feedback on mistakes, errors, or things that need to be changed
Publish the chapter

Theme of inspiration for the Webtoon comic

Obviously, my biggest inspiration has been my magnificent pets, Mochi and Kaiba.

I’ve always had a huge passion for animals and for drawing them. Observing their shapes, movements, and behaviors fascinates me.

My second major source of inspiration is Magical Girls. As a child, I watched the series Magica Doremi, along with Cardcaptor Sakura. These series filled my heart with the cutest magic.

I also like to think about the idea that Magical Girls always have a dark side, and when I saw Madoka Magica, this became even more apparent. I believe that in life we all have light and shadow, and I want to show that in my comic as well.

Another big influence for me is Studio Ghibli. I find their art so wonderful that it’s hard to say that you can see anything of it in my art, since it’s impossible to even come close. My favorite film is Spirited Away.

My pets and the Webtoon comic

Mochi and Kaiba are the best cats in the world! Although that’s what all moms say about their babies XD

I love watching them and laughing at the silly things they do. I think my phone is going to explode with all the pictures I have of them.

I also strongly believe that every animal has its own personality. And in my comic, I’ve tried to capture their personalities.

When I put the characters in a situation, I imagine what my adorable pets would actually do.

I’ve also tried to reflect their personalities in their physical appearance.
